About Us

The Mission of the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League of the Palm Beaches, Incorporated is to provide shelter to lost, homeless and unwanted animals, to provide spay and neuter and other medical services for companion animals, and to care for, protect, and find quality homes for homeless and neglected companion animals, to advocate animal welfare, community involvement and education to further the bond between people and animals.

Here is a quick glimpse of how we made an impact in 2014:

  • 28,828 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies benefited from our programs and services
  • 43,186 phone calls were answered by our Call Center
  • 10,756 spay and neuter surgeries
  • 5,345 lost, injured and homeless cats and dogs received temporary shelter
  • 3,936 animals were placed into new loving homes
  • 1,381 cats and dogs were cared for by our Foster Program Volunteers
  • 269 lost animals were reunited with their families
  • 507 animals, 70 cats and 437 dogs, were transferred to the League from Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control
  • 350 active volunteers donated over 46,000 hours helping to enrich the lives of our shelter animals and to ensure that the League achieves our goals in serving animals and residents in our community.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, Humane Society of the Palm Beaches, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and does not receive funding from city, county, state, or the federal government, or local organizations with similar names. We rely solely on the generosity of individuals, foundations and corporations to provide quality programs and services to the community. Your donations directly support the services and programs in place to help animals in need.

Be sure to also visit our Shaggy Shoppe Pet Boutique located within the Grace Pavilion at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Other kinds of treasures can also be found at our Thrift Store at 1905 S. Dixie Hwy in West Palm Beach. All of the proceeds benefit the programs and services at the League.
