Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Receives $60,000 Grant from the ASPCA®
West Palm Beach, FL- (January 4, 2016) Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is pleased to announce they are the recipients of a $60,000 grant from the ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ®), which will provide funding for 1,200 free spay/neuter surgeries for owned and community trapped cats in the top two intake zip codes in Palm Beach County- 33411 and 33415. Starting December 1, 2015, the League plans on performing these free surgeries over the next year and reducing the number of cats on the street and entering shelters.
"We are very grateful for this funding from ASPCA® in support of our ‘Countdown 2 Zero’ initiative, saving lives of at-risk animals here in Palm Beach County. We are confident this effort will prevent the deaths of hundreds – and probably thousands – of cats in these zip codes," said Rich Anderson, Executive Director/CEO for Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.
“The ASPCA is proud to provide this grant to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League to support their life-saving efforts,” said Greg Miller, director of GIS analysis at the ASPCA. “By focusing on areas where we see the highest number of animals entering shelters, we hope to address the problem at the source and positively impact the lives of animals in Palm Beach County.”
