SCENTHOUND ATTEMPTS TO SET WORLD RECORD
SUNDAY APRIL 3, 2016 IN PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL
Scenthound, an emerging leader in the dog-care industry, is raising awareness about the importance of routine dental care for dogs by attempting to set a World Record for “Most people brushing dogs’ teeth simultaneously”.
West Palm Beach, FL – March 1, 2016 – Scenthound (http://www.scenthound.com), the convenient and affordable way for dog parents to get essential care and monthly maintenance for their dogs, will attempt to set a world record for “Most people brushing dogs’ teeth simultaneously”. The current record, according the Guinness Book of World Records, is 268 dogs set in Hong Kong, China in 2012. With the participation of not-for-profit partners Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and Friends of Jupiter Beach along with other local businesses, Scenthound’s record attempt will be held at Downtown at the Gardens in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on Sunday April 3rd, 2016 at 1pm.
Scenthound invites all dog parents to join them in making history by breaking this world record. Interested dog owners must register in order to participate. Each dog must have its own handler and must be over six months old to take part in the event. Scenthound will provide all instructions and supplies. Sign up is available online at http://www.scenthound.com/world-record and at Scenthound locations. You can also sign up with Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League or Friends of Jupiter Beach to participate with one of their teams. “Scenthound has been a great supporter of ours for many years, and we’re excited to be a part of this event and support their mission to raise awareness about the importance of dental care for dogs,” said Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Executive Director/CEO, Rich Anderson.
After several years in the grooming business, Scenthound founder and CEO, Tim Vogel, began to notice that too many dogs out there don’t get the regular care they need in order to stay healthy and happy. “We created Scenthound to make routine care affordable and accessible to all dog parents,” says Vogel. “Our mission is to educate people about preventive maintenance and to provide an easy way for them to get care for their dogs.” SCENT stands for the five core areas of maintenance - Skin, Coat, Ears, Nails, Teeth.
Vogel continues to explain, “Dental care is one of the most important and often overlooked areas of routine maintenance. Did you know that most dogs over the age of three have some stage of periodontal disease? In addition to bad breath and eventual tooth loss, periodontal disease can affect other areas of a dog’s body, including the lungs, kidneys, and heart. Regular dental care is critical to a dog’s dental health and also in the prevention of more serious health problems.”
Scenthound locations throughout Palm Beach County are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
