4th Annual Countdown 2 Zero Adoption Event Scheduled for September 9th

POSTPONED DUE TO HURRICANE IRMA

Rescheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2017

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL-(September 6, 2017) The fourth annual Countdown 2 Zero (C2Z) Adoption Event, presented by the Lois Pope LIFE Foundation, Inc. and Petco Foundation that was scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2017, has been postponed due to the projected hurricane

The largest one-day adoption event that features close to 1,000 animals (dogs, cats, kittens, puppies, rabbits, birds and guinea pigs) has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2017, in the air-conditioned Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach.

“Hurricane Irma is an extremely dangerous Category 5 storm whose ultimate path is still unknown. To ensure the safety of all our participants, guests, volunteers, staff, sponsors and all the animals who need to be transported to the event, the most responsible decision we could make is to postpone.  We are grateful that the Palm Beach County Convention Center was able to work with us to secure the Saturday, October 14th date,” says Rich Anderson, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Executive Director/CEO.  Anderson continued with, “While you are preparing your home and your hurricane kit, please don’t forget about your pets and their needs.  Go to PeggyAdams.org for instructions and helpful tips.”

Organized by Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, the Countdown 2 Zero Adoption Event is a collaborative effort of over 30 local animal rescue organizations to save the lives of animals in Palm Beach County.  The past three C2Z adoption events found nearly 1,000 animals their forever homes.

Countdown 2 Zero is public/private community collaboration, initiated by Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control, the Board of County Commissioners and Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League to bring animal welfare organizations together and end the euthanasia of adoptable animals in Palm Beach County. The Countdown 2 Zero Adoption Event is a collaborative effort between local animal rescues in an effort to save lives.  To learn more visit www.countdown2zero.org.
