Oh, hello there. Thank you for noticing me. I know I'm not the most outgoing, or the youngest kitty here at the shelter, but I sure do want a forever home just as much. I'm a very sweet natured girl, but it's hidden underneath my initial shyness. But if you take a bit of time to get to know me, you'll see the charming little lady that I really am. I'm mostly low-key and quiet, but still more than happy to receive your affection. And a comfortable place to rest my head for my long cat naps would be nice too. Will you be the person to take me to my retirement home?
I have tested positive for FIV. Feline Immuno-deficiency is a slow virus that affects a cat's immune system over a period of years. It's not contagious to humans or dogs, and isn't easily passed between cats. The virus is passed by blood transfusion or bite wounds. FIV positive cats can lead long, healthy, happy lives. If you decide to bring me home, know that you are doing a very noble thing. Although my lifespan may be shorter than that of a normal cat, my life can still be filled with happiness. Whatever length my life ends up being, my time can be joy-filled thanks to you.
Because I am FIV positive, I qualify for the Fospice program. Foster me and all my routine medical care, food, medication and other supplies will be provided by Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League, free of charge. If you are interested in fostering me or learning more about FIV, please speak with an Adoption Coordinator.
