Class Details

Once your dog has mastered the behaviors taught in Pet Beginners, they're ready for the next challenge. Adding additional behaviors to their repertoire and increasing the difficulty level this class will help proof your dog. Proofing is a way of making sure that your dog is able to behave and listen to your commands even when he’s distracted. You (and your dog) will receive instruction and guidance on learning how to perform the following behaviors: accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance and grooming, loose leash walking in the presence of distractions, walking through a crowd, sit and down on command and staying in the presence of distractions, coming when called, properly meeting another dog, reaction to distraction, staying calm while separated from you.

Fee: $60, 6 Week/50 minute session (limited to 8 dogs)

Please call us at least 48 hours in advance if you can't keep your appointment or if your pet is sick. Class fee is for 1 dog. Please register additional dogs separately. Make sure you have 1 handler per dog. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toes shoes such as sneakers. No flip flops and no retractable leashes.

We are committed to teaching you and your dog how to live and work together in a happy home. To do this, we need to make sure the participants in the classes are safe.  While we welcome everyone in classes, we do have a few restrictions to make sure it is a positive experience. We cannot allow dogs in classes that have the following behaviors:
*must wear a muzzle to be around other dogs or people
*aggressively bark/lunge at other dogs or people

We try to provide our instructors with training to make sure they use the most up to date and varied positive reinforcement methods to make class fun for you and your dog. If your dog has the above behavior, we recommend you contact Dr. Lisa Radosta at 561.795.9398.
