5-Week Loose Leash Walking Class
Join Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League and Lucky Dog Training Club for a 5-Week Loose Leash Walking Class.
Tired of your dog walking you and pulling to get to squirrels and lizards? Annoyed by a dog who drags you for a walk or doesn’t seem to notice you during your walks? If your dog’s behavior has got you a bit frustrated or embarrassed, or if you just want a little more polite behavior, this class is for you.
Learn different techniques and skills to help your dog enjoy their walk. We can help you enjoy a calmer and better-behaved dog with our Loose Leash Walking and Heel class. Come walk with us!
We want to help make life with your dog easier by allowing you to enjoy a calm and well-behaved companion. You will be taught the skills and concepts needed to better understand your dog and how to change from being dragged down the street to having your dog walking by your side in a harmonious stride.
The goal of this class is to help make walks with your dog easier and more enjoyable. Not every technique is for every dog but one of them will be a perfect fit for you and your dog.
What to expect in class?
Our Loose Leash Walking class consists of five one-hour sessions with you and your dog. We will work on leash handling skills, getting your dog used to the feel of the loose leash, as well as different tools that we will use to help keep your dog’s attention while on walks. We’ll walk outside with other dogs and distractions. We will also learn troubleshooting in case your dog gets overly excited by distractions, and show you tips on how to successfully pass other dogs while walking and how to keep your dog safe!
Heeling is a complex cue that requires focus and obedience. We will work with you and your dog on focusing skills and the tools that are needed to have your dog in tune with you on each and every walk.
