West Palm Beach, FL (May 5, 2022) - Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League is offering week-long summer programs beginning June 6. The School’s Out program is a great opportunity for children ages 6 through 14 to learn all about dogs and cats while helping the shelter animals at Peggy Adams.
Peggy Adams’ School’s Out summer program will provide creative activities through arts-n-crafts, making toys and treats for the animals, story time, animal interactions, games and activities, guest speakers, as well as behind-the-scenes experiences.
Dates for the 2022 School’s Out summer program for ages 6-8 include: June 6-10 and July 11-15. Dates for ages 9-11 include: June 13-17 and July 18-22. Kids ages 11-14 can sign up for the June 20-24 or July 25-29 sessions. Program hours are from 9am-3pm.
Service hours are available. Each day, the program will include blocks of time in which attendees can earn up to 10 service hours per week by making dog and cat enrichment toys and treats, as well as reading to the animals.
“Children involved in this program will gain firsthand insight into the full operations at Peggy Adams,” says Shellie Kalmore, Humane Education Manager at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. “All participants feel empowered because they know that through their actions and participation, they are having a positive impact at the shelter. Because as we all know, the future of animal welfare rests with the youth that we reach today.”
