Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League Announces Mascot for the 21st Annual Walk for the Animals

West Palm Beach, FL- (February 1, 2022) Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League will host the 21st Annual Barry Crown Walk for the Animals. The largest pet-friendly walk in Palm Beach County will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at the Meyer Amphitheatre (105 Evernia Street) in West Palm Beach. Peggy Adams is thrilled to announce that this year’s Walk mascot is Olivia!

In November 2021, Olivia was found outside a home injured and alone. She was dirty and had a traumatic injury to her right leg, leaving a bone exposed. The limb was injured beyond saving; Palm Beach County Animal Care & Control found it necessary to amputate Olivia's right paw. Olivia then arrived at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League for much-needed recovery, TLC, and medical care.

After being cared for by the Peggy Adams’ team, Olivia's upbeat and charming personality started to blossom. She was chosen to attend Peggy Adams’ annual music festival, Bark Back Benefit, in hopes of finding a forever home. Sure enough, she had a potential adopter anxiously waiting to meet her.

Her adopter, Jenna, says: "The night before Bark Back I saw a collage of the dogs that were needing adoption and I immediately was drawn to Olivia... When I saw and met her, I loved her and I felt a bond I can’t describe. She seemed to be comfortable with me right away, and since the day we adopted her she’s always by my side. She is so loving towards everyone, she likes to cuddle and gives hugs."

"Dogs in shelters need homes where they get a second chance at life, families who care, and to know what it’s like to be loved. I am so grateful for everything the rescues do but I’m especially thankful for Peggy Adams rescuing my girl."

Join Olivia as she leads the 21st Annual Walk for the Animals! This pet-friendly walk begins at 9:00 am with check-in and registration, vendors and breakfast for registered walkers. At 10:15 am after opening ceremonies, participants will enjoy a scenic stroll down Flagler Drive. Along the walk route, there will be a team sign contest with prizes awarded on stage following the walk. It's your chance to get creative!

As participants complete the one-mile route, they'll enjoy pet costume contests with unique prize baskets at center stage. Categories include Best Dressed, Most Creative, Owner/Pet Look-A-Like, and Best in Show. Participants must register at the event by 10:30 am. There will also be local vendors and a fabulous silent auction and raffle area with great prizes. Jennifer Ross of Sunny 107.9 FM and WFTL 850AM will be the event's emcee. Festivities conclude at noon.

Although pre-registration was encouraged, participants can still register to walk at the event. Each registrant who raises or donates at least $35 will receive a free t-shirt and a bandana (while supplies last). There are also many fundraising opportunities to earn incredible incentives.
