Behavior Class Registrar
Assists clients taking the free dog obedience training class held on Saturdays at the League by setting up the registration table, checking clients in, answering basic questions, breaking down registration table after class and entering client information into the animal database.
Hours/Shifts: Saturday 8:30AM to 11AM.
Clinic – Foster Technician Assistant
Assists the Foster Techs during their shift to facilitate incoming appointments for foster cats, dogs, puppies and kittens. Task including cleaning instruments, popping syringes, bathing, looking up animal information in the database, moving kittens into Post Op rooms, and assisting with other medical needs.
Hours/Shifts: Monday – Sunday, 9AM – 12:30PM; 1:30PM – 6PM
Clinic - Medical Services Intake Technician
Works alongside the Processing Tech and Doctor as they facilitate the initial examination and other medical needs required in order to admit animals into the League. Processing is the first stop animals make in the shelter system. Duties include retrieving animals from their kennels, drawing up vaccines, preparing dewormer, setting up ear cytologies and skin scrapes for the Techs, photographing animals, giving flea baths, and documenting information.
Hours/Shifts: Daily 10AM-2PM; 2PM-6PM
Clinic - Medical Transporter
Assists animals with illness and injury by transporting them to veterinary specialists offices for medical consults, surgery appointments, etc. Duties include picking animals up from the League and driving them to their appointment, maintaining communication between the League and the veterinary practice. Must have a clean driving record and be able to be added to the League’s insurance.
Hours/Shifts: No set shift. As needed/Upon request.
Clinic – Pharmacy Tech Assistant
Assists animals in our care by helping the pharmacy technician fill prescription medication orders, transporting medications to the various departments, kennels and catteries so that the animals on treatment plans can begin treatment as quickly as possible. Duties include printing prescription labels, transporting medications, communicating with the medical services team and the animal care teams.
Hours/Shifts: Daily 10AM-1PM; 1PM to 4PM
Clinic – Post Surgical Assistant
Assists animals in the operating suite by working with the medical services team to monitor animals recovering from spay/neuter surgery and other medical procedures. Duties include monitoring anesthetized cats and dogs, sterilizing surgical instruments, preparing instrument packs, preparing syringes, cross-checking microchip information, feeding community cats, etc.
Hours/Shifts: Monday through Friday: 8AM to 12PM; 1PM to 4PM.
Dog Adoption Greeter
Stationed in our Dog Adoption Room, this position is responsible for welcoming members of the public, answering any questions the potential adopters may have about dogs and/or the adoption process, enforcing rules to keep the room a safe environment for both the dogs and guests, setting up (or taking down) the information table, and being an extra set of eyes in the room.
Hours/Shifts: Sunday through Saturday: 11AM to 1PM; 1-3PM; 3-6PM
Assist clients entering the Grace Pavilion by greeting them as they enter, answering questions, directing clients to the correct department/area, stocking the podium with supplies, monitoring the lobby to keep it clean and orderly.
Hours/Shifts: Scheduled daily from 8AM to 6PM.
Foster Program Support
Assists foster parents by preparing supply kits, checking foster animals in and out. Duties also may include data entry, making and answering telephone calls and texts, answering emails, stocking shelves. Hours/shifts: Daily three hour shifts: 9AM to 12PM; 12AM to 3PM; 3PM to 6PM
Foster Program Surgery Admitting
Assists foster parents by checking their foster animals in for spay/neuter surgery, making sure the animals have a photo and adoption profile, setting the animals up in the pre-operative area. Duties include data entry, checking reports, checking medical history, entering notes in the animal record, updating the foster parent’s availability in the database.
Hours/shifts: Monday through Thursday: 8AM to 10AM
Assists foster parents by delivering foster animals and supplies to the foster home, picking foster animals up for veterinary appointments, delivering medications, etc. Uses own vehicle or League vehicle – must have clean driving record and be able to be added to the League insurance.
Hours/Shifts: Scheduled daily (mostly May through December).
Assists clients wishing to surrender their pets to Peggy Adams (or at Animal Care & Control) using the Pets for Life model, to attempt to provide resources to keep the pet in the home, or to rehome the pet without having the animal enter the shelter system, pick up off-property donations, work pantry/prevention related events.
Hours/Shifts: Daily 8AM to 6PM
Assist local residents by supporting Peggy’s Pantry efforts in the Palm Beach County area. Will take in donations, sort donations by departments based on needs, wait on clients in a customer service setting, distribute food, collect and manage information, bag food rations to be given out, maintain a clean and organized environment, pick up donations off property, fill out donations slips, and work pantry/prevention related events.
Hours/Shifts: Daily 8AM to 6PM
Peggy’s Pantry - Belle Glade/Pahokee
Assist local residents by supporting Peggy’s Pantry efforts in the Glades community. Manage donations brought to pantry site, set up pantry station, distribute food, collect and manage information, hand out vouchers for services (spay/neuter & vaccines), and work local events.
Hours/Shifts: Scheduled bi-monthly on Wednesday from 9AM – 1PM (hours subject to change as service is needed)
Receiving Administrative Assistant
Assist the Receiving Department by answering the phone, responding to email inquiries, placing animals in kennels, taking photos of incoming animals and communicating PAARL policies and procedures to clients.
Hours/Shifts: Daily 9AM-1PM; 1PM-5PM
Return to Field Driver
Return to Field Drivers will transport community cats that have just been through TNVR surgery back to the place in the community where they were taken from. They will follow the Return to Field training guidelines in releasing the cats and provide informational flyers to any community residents who question their actions.
Hours/Shifts: Tuesday – Friday, 2 to 4 hours shifts as needed.
Shaggy Shoppe Boutique Attendant
Boutique attendants will be responsible for assisting customers with their shopping needs, perform purchases in POS, replenish stock, pricing merchandise, and responsible for the overall appearance of the Boutique.
Hours/Shifts: Daily four-hour shifts – 10AM to 2PM; 2PM to 6PM
Social Media / Digital Content Creator
The primary function of the Digital Content Creator is to produce sharable, informative content to be shared on the Peggy Adams website and social media platforms. This job entails all aspects of content creation, including taking photos/videos, editing the media, writing supplementary text and posting across digital platforms.
Hours/Shifts: Monday-Friday, Hours Flexible
TNVR Assistant (Trap. Neuter. Vaccinate. Return)
Assist with the coordination and execution of the TNVR of cats in designated target areas in order to lower the number of feral cats and kittens entering local shelters, reduce nuisance issues and decrease the free-roaming cat population. Local travel is required – the volunteer will be required to undergo a Motor Vechicle Records Check to utilize PAARL vehicles. The volunteer will have access to PAARL vans, tru-catch traps, covers and other necessary supplies.
Wellness Clinic Technician Assistant
Works alongside the Wellness Clinic Techs and Vets as they facilitate the examination and other medical needs. Duties include drawing up vaccines, preparing de-wormer, writing down information relayed by the doctor and techs while following sanitation protocols.
Hours/Shifts: Daily, 9AM-12PM; 1PM-5PM
